About
I am currently a senior at Wentworth Institute of Technology studying Business Management with a concentration in Project Management. I will be graduating in August of 2015. In my four years at Wentworth I have gained knowledge in managerial skills, verbal and written communication skills, interdisciplinary skills and computer application skills. I am looking forward to completing my Bachelor’s degree at Wentworth and pursuing a career where I can use these skills while simultaneously fulfilling my interests in a business world.
I am the second of three children, with an older brother William and younger sister Samantha. I am originally from Scarborough, ME but plan on living in Boston, MA after graduation. I enjoy playing soccer, hanging out with friends and family and traveling. My personal and academic experiences have prepared me for a successful future in the business world.
Experiences at Wentworth
I chose Wentworth because of its reputation, location, co-op program and my ability to play soccer on the Women's Varsity team. After attending a recruit trip at Wentworth I decided to enroll in the Business Management program and start in the Fall of 2011. I spent four years playing on the soccer team and was the captain my junior and senior seasons. Soccer has been a part of my life since I was little and has taught me many skills. I brought these skills to Wentworth and because of my experience on the field and in the classroom my communication, leadership and teamwork skills have strengthened.
My sophomore year I was voted as the Student Athletic Advisory Committee's president. I was in charge of facilitating bi-weekly meetings, coordinating fundraisers and representing WIT at the Commonwealth Coast Conference retreat. As president I was given the opportunity to represent student-athletes at Wentworth and express our concerns to the administration.
One of my greatest achievements to date was during my Junior year I was inducted into three different honor societies. In the Spring of 2014 I was inducted to Sigma Beta Delta, Tau Alpha Chi and Chi Alpha Sigma. Sigma Beta Delta is an honor society for Business Management students, Tau Alpha Chi is an honorary society for technology colleges and Chi Alpha Sigma is an honorary society for Student Athletes. These awards acknowledge the dedication and commitment I show in each area of work.
I have completed both of my co-ops at Gilbane Building Company. I interned at Gilbane in the Spring and Fall of 2014. At Gilbane I fulfilled the role as Special Projects Group Intern and Project Coordinator. I assisted project managers, superintendents and project engineers with daily site tasks. I also communicated with current construction project teams in organizing and maintaining construction documents and contracts. After graduation I will be joining Gilbane as a Project Engineer I.
